Pre-Arrival Checklist!

It’s almost time to board a plane and start your new journey at George Mason University! We have a lot of resources to help you along the way. This is a simple checklist to help you stay on track and prepare for your arrival. If you need help or get stuck on any of the checklist items, email us at intoexp@gmu.edu. You can review the INTO Mason Welcome Guide to learn more about Mason, living in Virginia, what to pack and much more.

Now that you have confirmed your place, complete these important steps!

Activate your Mason Net ID

After you confirm your offer, you will receive an email from intoexp@gmu.edu with your unique university record number. Once you have this number, go HERE for instructions on how to activate your Mason Net ID.

Apply for your F-1 visa

Apply for your F-1 visa right away. To start the process, you will need to use the Form I-20 that will be sent to you by oips@gmu.edu.
