Several factors have determined the above deadlines, including:
the importance of students confirming offers as early as possible to secure appropriate accommodation (especially under-18s)
UWA’s and UWA College's limited-service period over Christmas
the Department of Home Affairs (DoHA) student visa processing times. This varies according to the country/region the students come from and the time of year – which will be slower over the Christmas period
additional welfare requirements for under-18s and the associated processing times of their Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation Welfare (CAAW)
possible delays in securing appointments for medical screening where required by the DoHA and conducted by third-party service providers.
Upcoming limited-service period
From Friday 22 December 2023 – Monday 8 January 2024, UWA College and UWA will be operating under a limited-service period. During this time, there will be delays with the processing of pathway and direct entry (DE) applications, as well as marketing and recruitment support.
