Western Australian International Education Incentive Scheme

17 November 2022

As part of the Scheme, you could receive:

  • AUD $500 per student they enroll in a school, English Language or vocational course, OR

  • AUD $1,000 per student enrolled in one of the state’s five universities.

This Scheme provides a finite fund of AUD $10 million. This will be paid to eligible participating WA international education providers to be disbursed as an additional top-up commission to agents through WA education providers’ existing payment systems.

We are pleased to announce that The University of Western Australia (UWA) has secured funding from the WA Government to participate in this campaign. As a result, UWA College are also eligible to participate and secure funding for our agents.

What does this mean for you?

Effective from 1 September 2022 to 30 June 2023, agents who recruit students into UWA College pathway programs may be eligible for the AUD $500 incentive. Agents who recruit students into UWA CELT English Language program may be eligible for the AUD $500 incentive.

For agents to be eligible to receive the top-up commission, the student must meet the following criteria:

  • the student is a confirmed new enrollment, enrolled after 1 September 2022

  • the student has commenced onshore in Western Australia

  • the student is studying full-time or is approved to study part-time

  • the student holds an eligible international student visa

  • the student can provide their Unique Student Identifier (USI) number (it is your responsibility to confirm the USI number of their students)

  • the student is enrolled in a course of at least one semester or one trimester in duration

  • the student’s enrollment is confirmed past the relevant census date.

How payment will work

Payment of the top-up commission will take place once UWA has received confirmed funding from the State Government. Please note that the AUD $10 million provided by the Government to select institutions is finite and there is no guarantee that you will receive the top-up commission for every enrollment.

You are also only eligible to receive one payment per student. This means that if the student has a package with UWA CELT and/or UWA College, you will only receive a top-up commission for the first course in which your student enrolls.

UWA College are waiting for confirmation from UWA on the process for agents to receive the incentive. We will be updating everyone as soon as possible.
