International Year One in Biological Sciences

Prepare for entry to Year 2 of an undergraduate degree at the University of East Anglia's (UEA) School of Biological Sciences.

50% of credit-bearing modules during the International Year One are taught by INTO and 50% by UEA professors together with first year university students. Combining expertise in the subject area and international student support, you'll be in the best position to thrive in your studies.

Key Information

  • The INTO UEA modules are taught by biologists experienced in supporting international students. You’ll learn in small classes where our teachers bring biology to life through their industry experience.
  • Develop the language, communication, research and study skills to thrive in academic modules, including scientific writing, presentation skills, laboratory reports, note taking and data interpretation and analysis.
  • Depending on your progression degree, you'll be taught by world-leading academics from the School of Biological Sciences and Norwich Medical School, as well as consultants and scientists from the University Hospital.
  • Access UEA facilities including the brand new £31 million science building with three floors of teaching labs and the Norwich Research Park.
  • UEA's School of Biological Sciences is part of the Norwich Research Park: one of the largest single site concentrations of expertise in food, genomics and health in Europe.
  • Norwich Research Park is formed from four world-leading research institutes: John Innes Centre, Quadram Institute, Earlham Institute and The Sainsbury Laboratory. All of this cutting-edge research feeds into UEA's biological sciences degree courses.
